BUILDING THE MONSTER, PART 1

Recently a test unit HC4000-CR was delivered to the reputable high pressure valve manufacturer Stahl Armaturen PERSTA, part of Siepmann Industries. The monstrous, 4000 tons strong test unit is designed and equipped for high pressure gate valves in the range 4 up to 36”. The test unit is equipped with a low pressure air, high pressure gas and semi-automatic liquid test system, range 0-2000 bar / 30,000 PSI. The combination of the high pressure liquid test system and 4000 tons clamping systems enables Persta to test;
 
·         4 - 20” in special pressure classes up to maximum test pressure 2000 bar / 30,000 PSI.
·         24” up to Class 4500
·         32” up to 36” Class 2500.
 
The HC4000-CR is equipped with;
 
·         Stainless steel test liquid reservoir, capacity 4000 liter / 1000 Gallons.
·         Full surrounding closure with automatic lock, connected to the operating system.
·         Vacuum – filling system to ensure an efficient filling procedure.
·         (2) Inspection platforms.
·         Touch screen operated Computer Registration Program.
·         Wireless remote control. 
·         Hydraulic operated ‘Inner seal extraction’ system.
 
It took the Ventil installation team 3 days to transport, assemble and commission the 55000 kg heavy test unit in a pit at the Persta production facility in Warstein, Germany.
